SWE Portal 3.14.0 Release Note

The ESA Space Weather team is pleased to announce that SWE Portal 3.14.0 was released on the 14 October 2025.

In this update, the ESA SWE Services have been enhanced with the incorporation of the following new and updated products and tools:

From the Space Radiation Expert Service Centre:

  • The Royal Belgium Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB) provides:
    • The SEPEM Reference Data Set (RDS) Version 3 and the updated Reference Event List (REL) Version 2 are now available for direct download from the SEPEM product welcome page. The data package contains all updated versions of the RDS, along with comprehensive documentation and detailed file descriptions.

From the Ionospheric Weather Expert Service Centre:

  • University of Oslo (UiO) provides:
    • Nowcast and forecast of ROTI maps based on semi-empirical modelling for regions above latitude 50° North.
    • Nowcast and forecast of scintillation activity indicators maps based on the new ROTI products described in the point above.

From the ESA Space Weather Office:

  • SOSMAG/GK2A, EDRS-C/NGRM, and Sentinel-6-MF/NGRM datasets have been renamed. As announced in previous releases, the old deprecated datasets have now been decommissioned. Please only use the new dataset names as specified on the respective instrument pages, in HAPI, or in the SWE Data Browser.
  • NGRM is the second Space Weather instrument flying as part of ESA's Distributed Space Weather Sensor System (D3S). Latest data from the NGRM instrument onboard the first Meteosat Third Generation-Sounder (MTG-S1) spacecraft is now provided as part of the General Data Services. Access this via the SWE Data Browser or API and find out more about NGRM here.

Changes made to product APIs in this release:

  • I.163-I.166: ISPA ROTI and scintillation data is now made accessible through the product's REST API. See the products help page for more information.
