Future Space Weather related activities, including public relation and educational outreach

The final part of the meeting was dedicated to general discussion and everybody was invited to participate.

At the EGS Solar-Terrestrial business meeting (Wednesday, 21 April,12:30-14:30)
it  was decided that there will be a Space Weather session at the next EGS meeting
year  2000  in Florence, Italy. This was mentioned at the "EGS Space Weather business meeting"  and there was general agreement that emphasis should be placed
on science (data analysis and modelling) at this coming Space Weather session.

The potential of future Space Weather missions (e.g. STEREO, Solar Orbiter, Geospace) should be included in possible Space Weather scenarios.

As a global conclusion the subject of Space Weather is of growing interest to the scientific community. It is important now that the link between the data and/or modellers with the potential users of Space Weather facilities be found. Also it is important that Europe should put emphasis on what is already developed and what Europe is already good at (data and models). Finally it was mentioned that public relation and educational outreach activities should be addressed for the future.

Volker Bothmer and Norma Crosby want to thank everybody who attended this meeting and for their various input and comments.
